| Migration of IP Telnet and VPS Printing to198 IP Address Extended to February 28, 2002. We are continuing to migrate any remaining IP connections on our 155.155.210.233 IP address to 198.212.155.249. As a reminder, our deadline for converting all clearing-related processes to the 198 subnet is now February 28, 2002. On October 22, 2001, all MQM traffic was migrated to the new address. Our next step is to transfer all 3270 Telnet and VPS Printing data that resides on our new Ethernet network to this address. Also, for the test environment (MVSB), we request that you add 198.212.155.241. Firms that recently migrated to IP are already pointing to these addresses. It is the earlier "converts" that are still communicating through our older network. Next Steps First, firm network engineers should review the CME addresses they are pointing to on your network and make the needed changes that will allow 3270 Telnet and VPS Printing traffic to go to this new address. It should already be added to your firewalls, as it is used for MQM in production today for IP. Furthermore, for Telnet traffic, port 23 should be open. For VPS Printing, port 515 should be opened. MQM IP users should already have port 1414 open for access. Next, you must schedule a ping test with CME network engineers and Tech support staff. Then, by Friday of that week start sending data through the 198 address. On the weekend following February 28th, the CME will remove access to the old 155 subnet on the old Token Ring infrastructure. There will be NO FURTHER EXTENSIONS FOR THIS PORTION OF OUR CONVERSION! To schedule ping testing or if you have any questions, contact Karen F. McCoy at (312) 930-4524 or kmccoy@cme.com. Thank you. |
